In the second practice of the Mexican Grand Prix, the drivers took the time to review and adjust their cars, as well as to rethink strategies with their technical teams. Argentine Franco Colapinto positioned himself in seventh place after completing five laps with a time of 1:19:025.
As for Max Verstappen from Red Bull, he faced problems with his car that were detected by the European team's technical staff. In this practice, Colapinto, driving a Williams, finished in 15th place on the grid.
The top three places of the session went to Carlos Sainz (Ferrari), Oscar Piastri (McLaren), and Yuki Tsunoda (Red Bull). At one point, the track had to be cleared due to a technical issue.
After the issues with his car, Verstappen did not return to the track, with his teammate Sergio "Checo" Pérez representing the team. On the other hand, Alex Albon, Colapinto's colleague at Williams, joined the list of drivers who did not complete the practice due to technical problems.
George Russell from Mercedes suffered an accident that caused a red flag during the session, being forced to leave to undergo medical checks that fortunately came back positive. On Saturday, Colapinto will participate in Practice 3 at 14:30, followed by qualifying at 18:00 for the Sunday race.
Under these circumstances, Colapinto was the only one from Williams to finish the practice, while Russell had an incident that ended in a crash against the wall and a red flag during the session.
